Split the bill item by item and settle group expenses without the math. SplitHappens reads the receipt from a photo, and everyone pays only for what they had.

Dinner out, a weekend away, a big grocery run. Afterwards everyone wants to know what they owe.

Scan the receipt, tap your items, done. For a trip, a shared flat or the weekly pub night, create a group, collect every expense there and see at the end who pays whom. Splitting expenses with friends takes seconds, even when someone different pays every time.

EVERYONE PAYS FOR WHAT THEY HAD
• Every item gets split on its own
• One soda means paying for one soda
• Share the starter for two or the bottle of wine across the table
• Everyone sees the same expense, live on their own phone

SCAN THE RECEIPT
• Take a photo and the app picks up items, prices and the tip
• If the items don't add up to the receipt total, it tells you
• Anything it gets wrong, you fix with a tap
• Works with more than 30 currencies

GROUPS FOR TRIPS, ROOMMATES AND REGULAR NIGHTS OUT
• Create a group, pick an icon, bring friends in by link or QR code
• Every expense lands in the group, whoever paid this time
• Expenses in another currency get converted for you
• When you're done, the app shows who pays whom, with as few transfers as possible
• Been out with the same people a few times? The app offers to save them as a group

QUICK TO ADD
• One screen: amount, who was there, who paid
• Split evenly or type in your own amounts
• Or add items by hand, bottle deposits included
• Before you save, you already see who owes whom
• The tip can be spread across everyone based on what they had

GUESTS DON'T NEED THE APP
• Anyone without the app joins by name
• After saving, send each guest their share as a message
• The link shows them what's still open in the browser, no sign-up
• If they create an account later, their expenses come with them

SETTLING UP
• Your home screen lists each person once, with what's open between you
• Group expenses and one-off expenses are netted against each other
• Tap "Pay" and their PayPal or bank details are right there, if they've added them
• Log a payment with one tap and the other person gets notified

YOUR DATA
• Stored on our own server in Germany

• Export everything as CSV, delete your account right in the app

What’s new

New: pay with Wero. Add your Wero link and friends can open Wero right from the app, with the amount copied for them.
Add expenses to a new group before the others have joined.
Tapping a notification takes you straight to the right bill. Windows work smoothly, even with large text.
