About this app

Talk to anyone in your own language. Sponkly translates your chats, your voice and video calls and your video meetings: 30 languages, one app.

CHAT IN ANY LANGUAGE
• Write in your language; your friends read your messages in theirs
• Translation happens on your phone, so chats stay end-to-end encrypted
• Voice messages are transcribed and translated on the phone too
• Photos, files, replies and reactions
• Group chats where everyone reads their own language (paid plans)
• Find friends from your contacts: numbers are compared, not stored

CALLS THAT TRANSLATE AS YOU TALK
• Voice and video calls with live subtitles and a spoken translation
• Your words are recognised and translated on the phones, never on a server
• End-to-end encrypted connections between the phones
• Calls ring like phone calls, even on the lock screen
• Unlimited calls on every plan; calls in the same language are always free
• Group calls with up to 8 people

VIDEO MEETINGS WITH LIVE VOICE TRANSLATION
• Everyone speaks their own language and hears the others in theirs, in a natural voice
• Live subtitles, chat with files, polls, reactions, raised hands and a waiting room
• Meetings for up to 8 people: join from the app or any browser at sponkly.com
• Written transcripts with every translation (Business and Enterprise)

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Chats and calls are end-to-end encrypted with X3DH and the Double Ratchet, the method trusted by leading private messengers
• Compare a 60-digit security code to be sure you are talking to the right person
• Meetings are encrypted in transit and translated by Sponkly's servers

What’s new

Fixes a crash when leaving a meeting. Meetings stay open until you close them, and invite links open in the app. Join with an invite link, change your language and voice in the meeting, and live subtitles no longer cover the buttons.
