About this game

Enter a candlelit parlour where every card hides a secret.

Velvet Spread is a single-player card-crafting puzzle game. Place cards around the Wand, cast your spread and discover the hidden folds that transform familiar ingredients into something new.

Begin with five cards and follow a branching chain of discoveries towards a complete collection of 60. Some folds care only about the cards you choose. Others demand the right card in the right seat.

Each evening gives you ten candles. Every cast uses one, so experiment carefully, build a streak and make the most of the evening’s favoured suit. Successful folds earn score and leaf, which can be spent on hints or a change of suit.
