Pawsition is a cozy logic puzzle about finding every cat a spot of its own.
No numbers. No timers. No accounts. Just a colourful grid, a handful of cats, and four rules that fit in a sentence:
• One cat in every row
• One cat in every column
• One cat in every colour patch
• And no two cats ever touching — not even corner to corner
That's the whole game. Everything else is deduction.
LEARN BY PLAYING, NOT BY READING
Six short lessons introduce one rule at a time on real boards, and you place your first cat within seconds of opening the app. Rows, then columns, then colour patches, then the no-touching rule, then how to use marks to track what you have ruled out. Finish the first lesson and the rest is optional — jump straight into the campaign, and come back any time you want a refresher.
THREE DIFFICULTIES, SIX HUNDRED LEVELS
Easy, Medium and Hard are all unlocked from the start, and each is a full 200-level campaign with its own progress — switch the moment a board feels too gentle or too mean, and your place in the other two is waiting. Easy opens on a 4×4 and teaches as it goes. Medium starts where Easy gets interesting. Hard is hard from its first board.
EIGHTEEN CAT PROVINCES
Six for each difficulty. Begin on the Sunny Windowsill with the house cats and work out to the Autumn Rooftops — or start cold on Frostbite Ridge and see how far you get towards the Ninth Life. Boards grow from a gentle 4×4 to a full 9×9, and the difficulty is authored, not random.
THEN THE BRAINY TWO-CAT BOARDS
Late in Medium, and through the back half of Hard, the rules change on you. Now every row, every column and every colour patch needs two cats. Same deduction, twice as much to keep track of — a genuinely different puzzle, and the point where the game opens up.
HINTS THAT TEACH INSTEAD OF SOLVING
Stuck? A hint doesn't just reveal the answer. It points at one square and explains the deduction that gets you there — which row, which patch, which cat rules it out. You finish the board having learned a technique you can use on the next one. Hints are free through the opening province, while the game is still teaching you the rules.
ONE THUMB, TWO GESTURES
Tap a square to place a cat, tap it again to pick the cat back up. Long-press to leave a paw note on a square you have ruled out — notes are always free and can never cost you anything. That is the entire control scheme. There is nothing else to learn and no menu to hunt through mid-thought.

If you enjoy sudoku, nonograms, minesweeper or pen-and-paper logic grids, this will feel familiar inside a minute: the same pleasure of a chain of forced moves, with none of the arithmetic. And if numbers are what always put you off puzzle games, start here — there isn't a digit in it.
PLAY IT YOUR WAY
Hearts mode gives you three mistakes a board, for when you want the pressure. Zen mode has no hearts and no failure at all — sit with a board as long as you like and finish it when you finish it. Switch whenever you feel like it.
EVERY PUZZLE IS FAIR
Every board is generated with a proven unique solution, then checked to be solvable by pure logic. There is never a point where you have to guess and hope. If you're stuck, the deduction is there — you just haven't spotted it yet.

Light and dark themes that follow your device, or lock whichever you prefer. Sound and haptics you can switch off. Hand-drawn cats, a warm palette, and a board that reads at a glance instead of a wall of numbers. Portrait, one-handed, and happy to be put down mid-board.
