Updated review. I'll start with the good-- the Square Off Pro board is excellent. Very clever engineering, good size, and reasonably responsive. It's also aesthetically pleasing enough to play offline. Great job. Minus one star for a completely unnecessary customer service ordeal regarding a replacement. And minus one additional star for the app itself. The app is serviceable, but tempermental. It lacks the same degree of polish exhibited by the board. I look forward to its evolution.

The game works well enough once certain bugs are worked out like your Bluetooth connection. That said everything seems to be working fine. The pieces are a bit small and made out of plastic which is odd given the price. I'm sure in future additions they can manage to make these things out of wood so that it can have a classier look when showing it to friends. Because of their size and small weight they have a tendency to tip over frequently. Fix please!

The app does indeed have issues. Updates for it on Android are few and far between, and usually not explained. Instead of acknowledging the well known issues with the app and physical board, Square Off takes the tactic of asking each customer to e-mail them, as to make these seem like one-offs. The real issue may be more frustrating than just the app. As an owner of their Pro board, I suspect many of these issue could be hardware related, and that there is no true easy fix. Seems abandoned.
