About this game

Strands is a daily word strands puzzle and strategy game where players aim to complete squares on a grid to make a word.

- How to Play
Connect letters in any direction—up, down, left, right, or diagonally—to form words. Your goal is to find all the words in the letter grid and score as many points as possible.

- Game Rules
Earn 1 point for each letter in a word. For example, a 5-letter word scores 5 points.
Words must be at least 4 letters long.
Each tile can only be used once per word.
Words with hyphens, proper nouns, vulgar language, or rare terms are excluded from the word list.

- Bonus Words
Bonus words are obscure, archaic, or slang terms. These words don’t earn points but will appear in the bonus word list. You can keep searching for them even after you’ve found all the main words (post-victory).

Each puzzle also hides a Word of the Day, a special and often lengthy bonus word. Guessing it rewards you with two extra hints!

- New Puzzle Daily
A fresh strand puzzle is released every day at midnight!

- Field Rotation
Want a new perspective? Rotate the grid left or right using the buttons in the bottom right corner. Looking at the puzzle from different angles might help you find more words.

- Using Letters
After finding 40% of the words, you’ll receive a hint: a number on each letter, showing how many words begin with that letter. If there’s no number, there are no words starting with that letter. If a letter turns orange, it’s no longer used in the main words but may still appear in bonus words.

- Hints
Each puzzle provides 3 to 5 hints, represented by a lightbulb icon. When used, these hints reveal the first letter of a random word and the direction to start searching. You’ll get 3 to 5 hints based on puzzle difficulty.
Additionally, sharing the game link with friends gives you 1 extra hint!

Enjoy the challenge and happy word hunting!
