About this app

Engineer Tools turns your phone into a set of everyday measuring tools: a bubble level, an angle finder, a compass, a true-size ruler and a protractor. It opens straight on a live level, with no ad at launch, and works offline.

BUBBLE LEVEL
• A circular level and horizontal and vertical vials, all live on one screen. Tap any of them to enlarge it.
• Arrows at the rim show which side to raise, and the level glows when you are within your tolerance.
• Sound guidance beeps faster as you get closer to level, so you can work without looking.
• Read tilt in degrees, percent, mm/m, in/ft or as a 1:n ratio, to 0.1° or 0.01°.
• Precise two-point calibration: take a reading, turn the phone 180° on the same spot and take another. It works on any surface.
• Hold or Auto-hold freezes a reading, a flashlight lights up dark corners, and the screen stays on while you work.
• Choose a fast, balanced or stable response.

ANGLE FINDER
• Measure the slope of a surface, or the angle of the phone's long edge.
• Set zero on any surface to measure relative to it.

COMPASS
• A compass card that turns to magnetic north, with the heading in degrees and as a direction, for example 245° Southwest.
• Works flat in your hand or held upright, and asks for a quick figure-8 when the sensor needs it.

RULER
• A true-size ruler down the whole screen: millimeters on one side, inches in sixteenths on the other.
• Drag two lines to measure between them in cm, in inches and to the nearest 1/16 in.

PROTRACTOR
• Drag the arms and the vertex to line them up with any angle. The reading shows in large type.
• One tap switches to the other side (360° minus the angle).

MADE FOR EVERYDAY USE

• 25 languages, including right-to-left.
