About this game

Recursspire is two things at once: a clean Tower of Hanoi puzzle you solve with your own hands, and a window into the elegant recursion that solves it for you. Move the stacked discs from the first peg to the last, one at a time, never setting a bigger disc on a smaller one — simple to grasp, satisfying to plan, and a genuine test of foresight as the disc count climbs.

Where it goes further is the learn mode. Hit auto-solve and Recursspire doesn't just finish the puzzle — it walks the recursive algorithm out loud: the actual Python function is shown on screen, the current line highlights as it runs, and the call stack builds and unwinds in step with the discs physically moving on the pegs. You see exactly how "move n discs" breaks into "move n-1, move one, move n-1 again," and why that unfolds into the precise sequence of moves in front of you. Step through it move by move or let it play, at your own pace.

Adjustable disc counts let you go from a three-disc warm-up to towers that show off how fast recursion scales, a move counter tracks your solves against the known minimum, and a clean visual style keeps both the pegs and the code crisp.

Everything runs on your device: no account, no connection, no ads. Just the pegs, the discs, and the clearest look at recursion you'll get from a game.
Solve the Tower of Hanoi, then watch recursion solve it — with the Python code.
