Ever wonder what happens if...? Physics Sandbox is a place to find out.

Drop some shapes. Give them gravity. Stack them too high, hit them with a wrecking ball, and watch what happens. Everything moves under real 2D physics, and the app shows you the numbers while you play.

GAMES INSIDE

• 8-ball pool — a real 9-foot table. Pull the cue back and let go. Spin, cushions and pockets behave like the real thing.
• Hoops — see the arc before you shoot. The line shows bank shots and tells you if you are on target.
• Bowling — regulation ball and ten pins. Set your power and spin and watch it hook.
• Plinko — drop balls through the pegs and watch a bell curve build itself.

Short goals to beat: topple every domino, stack it twice as high, roll it all the way to the far wall, swing the pendulum up level with its pivot. Each one teaches a bit of physics without a lecture.

• Eight materials: rubber, ice, metal, wood, bouncy, heavy, light and default.
• Joints and motors for building machines.
• 15 ready-made scenes: Stack, Pendulum, Newton's Cradle, Ramp, Orbits, Dominoes, Tower, Wrecker, Catapult, Engine and more.
• Change gravity and slow down time.
