Carmageddon is the original freeform driving sensation, where pedestrians (and cows!) equal points, and your opponents are a bunch of crazies in a twisted mix of automotive killing machines. The game features anarchic drive-wherever-you-like gameplay and over-the-top surreal comedy violence. It’s the racing game where racing is for wimps.

Now the same Mac & PC classic that was BANNED AROUND THE WORLD is back and available on Android phones and tablets!

Carmageddon features real-world environments that have been turned into killing fields, where the locals stay out on the streets at their peril. As well as using your car as a weapon, every level is sprinkled generously with power-ups that have a vast variety of mad effects, adding a whole extra level of craziness to the proceedings. In every event you have the option to “play it your way”… Waste all your opponents, kill every pedestrian, or (perish the thought) complete all the laps. Oh and watch out – the cops in their super-tough armoured patrol vehicles are lurking, and if they catch you being bad they’ll be down on you like several tons of cold pork!

      FEATURES
      • 28 dangerously deranged Opponents
      • 11 wildly exhilarating Environments
      • Career Mode featuring 36 satisfyingly violent Levels
      • Race and Wreck opponents to unlock 30 playable cars!
      • Multiple control methods: digital, analogue (mix ‘n’ match), tilt
      • Edit your control layout in game to your preferences
      • Comprehensive Action Replay System
      • Environment maps and other special effects
      • Enhanced pre-lit environments
      • Buckets of gibs
      • Tons of laughs

Plus the opportunity to make in app purchases to unlock ALL the cars (apart from the secret one) and ALL the races!
Carmageddon requires Android 2.3.4 or later.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITION FOR THE ORIGINAL GAME
Carmageddon won the “Game of the Year” trophy in the 1997 PC Zone Reader awards. Carmageddon 1 & 2 were “Driving Game of the Year” 1997/1998.

SELECTED REVIEWS OF THE ORIGINAL GAME
Originally released for the PC in 1997, Carmageddon was an instant hit and the titles went on to sell over 2 million copies worldwide. Here’s what a sample of the gaming press thought at the time:

“Carmageddon is visceral, violent, vehicular fun...” - GameSpot 8.8 out of 10

“Carmageddon, to get straight to the point, is one of the best computer games I've ever played… Carmageddon is God!” - Duncan McDonald 95% Classic Award PC Zone Magazine

“Carmageddon is one of those games that only come along once in a blue moon. An essential purchase.” - Escape Magazine 6 out of 6
“The gameplay is spot on and anyone with a dark enough sense of humour should give it a go.” - Computer Gaming World 4 out of 5

“So next time you gun down coppers on GTA VI, just remember, Carmageddon’s controversy was there first, and you have a lot to thank it for.” - RetroGarden

      ABOUT STAINLESS GAMES
Stainless was founded in 1994 by Patrick Buckland, a veteran of the games industry going back to the Jurassic period of 1982, and Neil Barnden, who used to have hair like a mammoth. A team of 8 worked on the original Carmageddon at Stainless, and 5 are still with the company today, although a couple of them are now kept manacled in a small padded room in the cellar.

Stainless Games now employs well over fifty mad, dedicated people of assorted gender, height and width. They can all be found dangling precariously from a small chalky rock just off the South Coast of England.

Near perfect port Plays fantastic on phone and tablet and feels just as it did back in the day. Plays well on touchscreen but would much prefer to use my sixaxis controller. Would be so grateful if controller support were implemented, additional draw distance slider would be nice too but let's not be greedy. As for the ad... it shouldn't bother any fans who can't wait for the new one ;)

Classic Carnage! This a great port of the all time classic Carmageddon. The user interface has be fully rebuilt while staying true to the original game's aesthetics and sounds. The controls are good and the game is played at your phone's resolution. It lacks graphic settings, which is a bummer, as it would also be nice to experience the game in it's original low-res glory, but that doesn't bother much. A nice port and remaster.

Classic that still rocks!!! I loved this game back when it was released. I must of spent months playing it. Now this game can be played flawlessly from the palm of my hand. I am flabbergasted at how great this game looks and feels in comparison to most other games. Completely original game style that should still be appreciated for years to come. I never review apps... But this game gave me goosebumps. The controls are smooth and the sound is wicked great. This is one must have for all meham lovers out there. Demolition derby lovers this game is for you and its hopped up on crack. Please add external remote support. My impulse mint controller cannot be used and is the only downside

As much fun as it was back in '97... A timeless classic that deserves FAR MORE respect than what it has received. I'd love to see this game expand into a fully immersive arcade game with a hydrolic cab, full VR headset support, and linkable local and worldwide multiplayer capability. Just sayin' it's be a wet dream come true...

Great fun This game is so fun! I never played it back in the day so I don't quite have nostalgia egging me on either. Fun gameplay with dynamic car deformation, lots of levels, lots of cars, and that defies a trend in early car games of good gameplay but low track and car variety. And at 99 cents? Definitely get this game

Payed for the game yet... Still have to put up with in game ads. Granted, they are just for more Carmageddon games, but I already like your games. If I didn't, I wouldn't have spent money on them. Still have to put up with "please rate us" notifications. Not at all what I expect from a paid game. By the way, if the notification wouldn't have popped up, this rating wouldn't exist. You know I love the game, why do you have to pester me? Tell the guy in marketing to go splatter himself and stay true to your fan base.

BT Keyboard support neened Feels almost like the real deal. Superb port and controlls feel the same as they did on the PC. Only one little tiny thing missign for well earned 5 stars and authentic gameplay - a bluetooth keyboard support! Please add, please, please, please! Will pay extra, just make it happen :-/

A Miracle on My Smartphone I swear, this is an age of miracles. I'm playing this on a Samsung Grand Prime (an inexpensive model), and it runs faster and more smoothly than the $2000 Pentium 1 my parents bought in the 90s. This port is, frankly, perfect. All the charm, gore, scope, and mechanics of the classic PC version are present. The controls are a bit wonky, but not enough to lower my rating. Besides, there are options for controls, and I have large fingers. This game is a miracle... for which I only paid $1.

Retro gaming at its best! Wrecked 'em! I saw this game advertised on the new PC version that's currently in early access beta (you need good hardware, it is a work in progress, if you're interested). This Android version is a very faithful remake of the original PC game and I'm in hog heaven! Requires morbid sense of humour. And it's a Brit game, I'm a Brit, I can spell humour any way I like!

Need option for Bluetooth controller Loved the game in 97 was over the moon when it was released on android. A Lil disappointed as I've purchased when first released and have been waiting patiently ever since for an update giving the gamer control pad options. Come on guys many of us have requested it, 3 star as is, would rate 5 star once additional control options are available.

Exactly as good as it used to be It would be good to be able to resize the controls. After you finish it would be good to be able to downgrade the car to make it easier to kill all the peds without wasting all the cars too quickly.Overall fantastic game as it always has been. Don the dumpster is stikl bloody hard to damage :)

Adsads ads and no way to turn them off. It is now advertising carmageddon reincarnation every day so your game is wiped out every day. ie the implicit saving of games is not working. I have now stopped playing it because of this.

Fantastic & Better Than Ever! I am LOVING Carmageddon again!! This version is actually better than the original PC game (especially the graphics!), which I'm going to buy again right now! :) This brings back TONS of memories of when I first bought this game with insane death, destruction & carnage! Well done developers! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Im VERY MUCH looking forward to the new Carmageddon which looks to be released on PC this year (2014)! I hope there will be an Android version!

A fantastic port of a really fun classic It runs smooth even on my low-end devices, and is still as much fun to play as ever. Definitely worth your money. Controlling the cars is tricky, but rewarding to master. The carnage and destruction is really satisfying, and the game overall is very exhilarating. Recommended to fans of racing, over-the-top-violence and fun. (Disclaimer: I've hung out a bit with some of the developers for a bit, had a friendly time and gotten free gifts from them, in the past, so take this rating with a grain of salt. My copy of this game was not provided, though. Bought it with my own money, with zero regrets.)

Ads and no controller support Great game, but subtracted one star for the use of ads in an app i paid for (!) and one for the lack of external controller support. Sure, I can map controller buttons to screen locations, but recovering my flipped car remains a pain to do.

Classic game, bad controls It's a great game weighed down by awkward controls. I suggest adding more options to customize the controls (what the layout looks like, size of the controls etc) and you'll get the 5 stars that this game deserves!

Sorry about the mess :-) Nice port of a classic arcade game. Recommended for all sick oldtimers like myself. You can spot a bug here and there but nothing really gamebreaking. Touch controls could be bigger, tilt steering sucks. Good optimization, no slowdowns on stock-clocked HTC Ace with CM 10.1.

Sweet Nostalgia Enjoying the hell out of the game. Reliving past pleasures of vehicular warfare, deranged roadkills, and insane madness. I'm afraid the game might be a bit short though, as I'm gonna ride through this with devastating speed. And the lack of features is also a bit of a letdown. Other than that, this is the other Mad Max!

Amazingly fun This port of a classic PC title plays great on the galaxy s7. There are 3 ways to complete each mission from wasting the other cars to killing all the pedestrians and animals in each level or simply completing each lap of the course which isn't as easy as you'd think with the other cars chasing you down. Carmageddon is great fun and I would recommend it to all

Classical carnage which you can take with you everywhere I enjoyed the original Carmageddon in my late teens, and was really excited to see it re-incarnated first on iOS, then on Android. Shamefully, I didn't have this game licensed back in 90s (hey I was a student, and my country was much poorer than now), so now I felt obliged to buy it on both platforms, And hell, I've already enjoyed in on my old iPad 1, and will certainly enjoy again on my new Android tablet when I have a mood to smudge a few dozen pedestrians on the walls!
