Behind them, a members-only community for adults who read the books: posts, comments, reactions and private messages, every post screened before it appears. No ads, no strangers. On your first visit you choose how you appear, the real name from your order or a pen name made on the spot, and you can switch post by post.

THE ESSAYS
Stan's essays, in the app and on the web, set in the reader's own typography, with audio where it exists. Some are kept for readers with a book.

PRIVATE BY PRINCIPLE
No ads, no tracking, no analytics, and no push notifications. No streaks, no badges, nothing engineered to pull you back in. Crash reports are the only thing the app sends home, and they carry no identity. You can delete your account and everything synced to it from inside the app, at any time.

IT SELLS YOU NOTHING
The app is a reader for books you already own. Sign in with the email you used at checkout and your shelf fills itself. Hardcover and gift claim codes redeem under Settings. No purchases, no subscriptions, no upsells, ever.

These books deal with power, manipulation, and psychological patterns, and they name them bluntly. They are written for adults. A content and mental health notice is included in the app.

What’s new

Shake to shuffle is off on Android: the deck shuffles only from the Shuffle button, and a pulled card stays on the table until you carry it or put it down. The whole Black Deck lives inside the app for readers who own it, with two fingers to bring a card close and the cards you keep under Carrying. The Feed's badges clear at once, the comment box shows five lines, and sheets and dialogs are clearer.
