You wake up on damp yellow carpet. The fluorescent lights hum overhead.
There are no signs, no maps, no voices. Only walls — and the sense that
they were not arranged this way a moment ago.
Backrooms Level 0: Yellow Halls is a single-player, first-person horror
exploration game designed from the ground up for mobile. No combat. No
cheap jump scares. Just a quiet, mounting wrongness as you piece
together how this place behaves — and how to leave it.
— THE EXPERIENCE —
• A focused ~10-minute path through Level 0, the original Backrooms.
• Endless yellow halls, soaked carpet, buzzing lights — the look fans
of the lore will recognize on sight.
• Pick up items, read the space, solve quiet environmental puzzles
to open the way deeper.
• A single entity haunts the dark. You cannot fight it. You can only
manage your light, your distance, and your nerve.
— BUILT FOR YOUR THUMBS —
• Designed for landscape mobile play, one-handed or two-thumb.
• Every interaction is a tap or a hold. No twitch reflexes required.
• Short, complete sessions — pick up, play, put down.
— ESCALATING REVELATION, NOT JUMP SCARES —
We follow four design pillars:
• Mobile-first pacing
• Escalating revelation (sound before shadow, shadow before entity)
• Space as story — no NPC monologues, no diaries dumping lore
• Opaque rules — you learn this place by watching it
The first 90 seconds are safe. By minute five, you will start
distrusting doors. By minute seven, something will be in the hall
with you. You will not be told what to do. You will figure it out.
— FOR FANS OF —
The Backrooms (Kane Pixels), Inside the Backrooms, liminal-space
horror, slow-burn first-person dread, SOMA-style environmental
storytelling on a phone-sized canvas.
— A NOTE ON CONTENT —
No gore. No blood. No flashing strobes used as a scare device.
The horror here is psychological, atmospheric, and quiet.
Headphones strongly recommended.
The Backrooms aren't trying to kill you.
They're trying to keep you.
