About this game

"Ancient Empires" — a classic turn-based tactics game, faithfully rebuilt for Android. The Kingdom of Thorin is divided: betrayed by his own twin brother Valadorn, King Galamar has fled into the eastern borderlands with only the loyal Blue Guard at his side. Lead them back, reclaim the kingdom — and then keep playing far beyond the story.

Remember Ancient Empires — the legendary Java game from the button-phone era? This is its faithful modern remake: the same rules, the same units, the same health pips, the same atmosphere — rebuilt for Android. And this version is genuinely comfortable to play.

THREE STORY CAMPAIGNS — 22 MISSIONS
Play through the storylines of all three Ancient Empires games, every mission running under the original Ancient Empires rules: 22 missions with briefings, story scenes and varied objectives — escort, rescue, siege, survival, capture — not just "destroy everyone".

235 SKIRMISH MAPS
Quick battles on 235 hand-crafted maps, most supporting 2-4 players in any mix of humans and AI.

HOT-SEAT MULTIPLAYER
Play with friends on one device — up to 4 players per map.

SMART AI
Three difficulty levels (easy, normal, hard). The hard bot coordinates attacks and focuses fire — it was tuned through thousands of self-play games.

FULL-FEATURED MAP EDITOR
A real map editor right on your phone: draw terrain, place buildings and units, mix landscape themes down to a single tile, build large maps up to 32×32 tiles — then play your map straight away and share it via export/import.

THE ORIGINAL RULES
- Victory is the enemy king's head: cut him down and the battle is yours — no need to hold every castle on the map.
- Your king is your leader. He captures castles and farms, and he must stand on a castle to recruit troops — so guard him well, because his death is your defeat.
- 9 recruitable unit types: Soldier, Archer, Lizard, Wizard, Wisp, Spider, Golem, Catapult, Wyvern.
- Health in pips, 0 to 10, and the original damage formula — a wounded attacker strikes weaker, so every pip counts.
- Units earn experience in battle and rise through ranks, striking harder and holding out longer as they go.
- The Wizard raises skeletons from graves, the Spider's bite is poisonous, the Wisp strengthens allies around it and burns the undead.
- The Lizard swims fast but crawls on land, the Wyvern flies over anything, the Archer strikes from 2 tiles away, the Catapult from 4.
- Terrain matters: forests, hills, mountains, water and roads change defense and movement.
- Economy: capture castles and farms for gold, and heal 2 pips per turn on your own buildings.

SPECTACULAR BATTLE SCENES
Every fight plays out as a gorgeous full-screen battle scene, just like in the original game: squads clash in melee, arrows and spells fly, the ground shakes on impact — pure pixel-art eye candy that never gets old.
The map is alive too: units march across the field, idle, take hits — movement and battles work exactly like in the classic Ancient Empires, smooth and polished.
Fully configurable: toggle fight, idle, water and smoke animations, switch between 5 landscape themes at any time, and tune the game speed to your taste.

MADE FOR TOUCH
A genuinely comfortable interface: map zooming with familiar gestures, smooth panning and a clean screen with nothing in the way.

AND MORE
- Save / load with autosave, undo your move, round counter.
- Separate volume controls for music, battle sounds and UI.
- Available in 20 languages: English, Russian, Swedish, German, French, Finnish, Danish, Norwegian, Belarusian, Ukrainian, Polish, Serbian, Czech, Portuguese (Brazil), Turkish, Filipino, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese.
- Works offline.

Please rate the game — your feedback helps us improve Ancient Empires.

No bugs. Same old experience. Zooming feature is great. Difficulty level ramped up. Great No save button, no troop information, and worse, enemies can 'pass through' your units. Strategic placement of units is thereby useless.

This game is nowhere near the original. No end move confirmation, no troop detail, and the graphic just too poor. You say this game is porting from the original but I say you recreate this game and that was half ass job. But what? You put ads and there is even a pro version to pay. You are leeching money from what once top java rpg created by others to your own pocket. This is piracy.

The game is rigged at chapter 5. How can a skeleton attack from the opposite of the field). Do yourself a favour and download a Java emulator and play the original, not this app.
