About this app

Take handwritten notes naturally on your Android tablet, phone, or Chromebook supporting Android apps! With Squid you can write just like you would on paper using an active pen, passive stylus, or your finger.

Easily markup PDFs to fill out forms, edit/grade papers, or sign documents. Import images, draw shapes, and add typed text to your notes. Quickly select, copy/paste, and move content between pages and notes. Organize your notes within notebooks and increase your productivity!

Turn your device into a virtual whiteboard or give presentations in a class, meeting, or conference by wirelessly casting to a TV/projector (e.g. using Miracast, Chromecast). Export notes as PDFs or images, then share them with others or store them in the cloud!

Squid is vector based - keeping your notes beautiful at any zoom level and on any device. You can erase entire letters and words quickly with the stroke eraser tool, or just parts of words with the true eraser tool. The selection tool allows you to change the color and thickness of your handwriting and even resize a drawing whenever you want without any loss in quality.

Squid takes special advantage of active pens on capable devices to provide natural, pressure-sensitive handwriting. Just write with the pen and erase with your finger!

Squid is designed to be both powerful and simple to use, allowing you to take notes quickly and efficiently.

This is generally a very good app. I mostly use it for marking up PDFs, which it is quick at and saves them within the app as a separate file, rather than overwriting the original PDF. You can later export the marked up PDF which is great. The two most annoying things I find is, firstly, there is no option to swipe to the next page. Most of the time I don't need to do it, but it would be a nice option that is available in other apps. The more annoying thing, that I haven't found in another app and so would really make this app stand out is the ability to navigate a PDF using the built in bookmarks. I am often trying to navigate a multi-thousand page PDF and find myself lost only having the option to look at all the pages in a thumbnail view or to scroll the page number (not even type one in). If a bookmark navigation feature was added I really think that would transform my usage of this app.

hands on this app for about a month but decide to not go for it. Overall, the excellence is noticable in its interface and low lag performance that you can use instantly without much learning curve. However, the major issues that discouraged me are "no option to hide navigation bar" and "poor PDF rendering in page flipping". I thought about sumitting or upvoting on their site, but on that site, I saw many features that should be done being left there for months and even more than a year.

I got the app because I needed an easy way to take notes - but after downloading quickly realised how impractical it was. Unless you're willing to go for the paid version, you don't have the option to highlight, erase small parts of, or TYPE text. It's impossible to write neatly enough to be legible, even using a stylus. All in all, really disappointed.

Squid is intended for handwritten note-taking and we use the latest technology to make your handwriting within Squid look just as it does on paper, especially with a stylus.
