Best note taking app for tablets I used to use One Note a lot when I had my Surface Pro. When I ended up getting a laptop to replace my Surface, I still missed and needed the writing feature of the Surface. I was able to get a tablet with a digitizer and started using Squid. It is perfect for note taking and marking up PDFs which is required by my job at times.
Good writing app The only thing lacking is an input filter to smooth the strokes. I notice a very ugly ripple on the strokes and words when I zoom in a bit. Otherwise, the app is very nice. I really like the UI and the ease of writing with it. I will have to keep using Quill until Squid has an input filter though.
I'm rating it a 4 so hopefully the devs are more likely to see my suggestions. If anybody finds this to be in bad taste, I will change it to a 5 star to reflect my actual opinion of the app. First a quick review. This app is fantastic. I use it for taking notes in university. I use it to jot down video game ideas. I use it to doodle when I'm not paying attention to a lecture. The free version is everything you need to take sufficient notes although I've payed for a few tools to enhance the experience; well worth it. If i had ONE wish, it would be that notes would have tags and be searchable by the tags so that we could search for notes by the content. Titles just aren't enough for me to remember everything the notes contain. Adding compatibility with multi-window on galaxy tablets would be awesome too so that I could read a pdf textbook and take notes simultaneously. Anyway, thanks for saving me from wasting paper and pencils and erasers. Keep up the good work.
Great app Squid, paid or free, is great. Its pdf abilities are better than anything on Android or even iOS. The only thing comparable would be One Note on a Windows 10 tablet. Keep up the good worth. Premium is well worth the cheap subscription.
A student's review It handles pdf's very well. I like the fact that I can choose the packages I buy. But packages are a bit expensive. Handwriting is not as good as I wish it was. changing pages is not easy, which makes annotating, and reading, large pdf's hard. Switching to typed text is also not convenient. Also, I wish I could get handwriting to text conversion. I still gave it 4 star because it opens pdf's really fast compared to Snote and has better handwriting than xodo. PS, if scrolling from one page to another is added, I will make it 5 starts
I Squiddlin' Love It! This app, with a subscription, is VERY useful. I didn't think I would use the massive amount of templates offered but they come in handy. I definitely recommend this app to ANY note taker. Easy, clean, and diverse. Worth the $1/month subscription.
