TailStash is a gratitude app built on one simple idea: the person receiving a kind word decides when to read it. Write short notes of appreciation, called Acorns, to yourself, to a friend, or to a group. When an Acorn arrives, the recipient chooses: read it now, or stash it unopened and come back to it on a hard day, when kind words matter most.
The idea is borrowed from the squirrel, which gathers acorns in the warm months so it is fed through the cold ones. TailStash does the same with kindness: every note is an Acorn, gathered when life feels generous and kept safe for its winters.
Journals are too private. Social feeds are too public. TailStash sits in between: appreciation, with the timing handed to the person it's meant for. Unlike a solo journal, your kind words travel: to friends, to family groups, to your people.
HOW IT WORKS
- Write. A short note of appreciation, often nudged by the Daily Spark, a personalized prompt delivered at a time you pick.
- Receive and decide. "Maria wrote to you." Read it now, or stash it for later. Stashed Acorns stay genuinely hidden until you choose to reveal them.
- Return to the stash. On a difficult day, open your Acorn Stash and read something someone said about you months ago, at exactly the moment it does the most good.
- Boost. When you are struggling, ask. Say what's going on, pick the friends you want to hear from, and each of them has 24 hours to send you one supportive note. Responding to a friend's boost is always free and unlimited.
WHAT YOU WON'T FIND
- No feed, no likes, no follower counts, no public profiles.
- No stranger discovery. You add friends by username or a personal invite. Someone who's already in has to bring you.
- No chat, no typing indicators, no pressure to reply.
- No anonymity. Every Acorn comes from a real person.
