About this app

Up to ten different voices read your script, one per character, and Storivox hands back a single finished audio file. It is offline text to speech: the voices run on your phone, not in a data center.

Write a scene — or start from a template. Storivox reads each line in the voice you gave that character, then hands back one audio file that is already mixed, so there is nothing to stitch together from three different sites afterwards. The first run fetches the voice pack once, about 139 MB, and after that nothing here needs a connection.

THE VOICES RUN ON YOUR PHONE — OFFLINE
The text to speech engine is on the device, not on a server. The voice pack downloads once, on the first run: it asks before it touches mobile data, and it resumes where it stopped if the connection drops. From then on you can put the phone in airplane mode and every voice still speaks. The synthesis happens here, the audio it makes stays here, and nothing is metered per use.

TEN VOICES, MANY LANGUAGES
Ten voices, five male and five female, and each one speaks every language the model covers — so a character keeps its voice even when the script switches language. You can hear all ten in under a minute. Ten is also the ceiling: past ten speaking parts you tell them apart with the per-line speed and loudness controls.

EMOTION AND PACE, LINE BY LINE
Every line takes a tone of its own — warm, bright, tense, sad or hushed — and its own speed and volume. The same voice can be gentle in one line and furious in the next, which is the difference between a cast and a flat text reader.

READING MODE — TURN AN EBOOK INTO AN AUDIOBOOK
Open a txt, Markdown, HTML, EPUB, FB2, DOCX or PDF and listen to it like an audiobook. The offline TTS reader handles long files: there is a sleep timer, and it remembers where you stopped. An ebook you already own becomes an audiobook without a converter and without an account.

TRANSCRIPTION — SPEECH TO TEXT
Record a conversation and transcribe it back to text, again without the audio leaving the phone. Export as TXT, Markdown, SRT or VTT. The transcription pack is a separate one-time download of about 154 MB, and then it runs offline like everything else.

EXPORT
Send the finished M4A through the share sheet. No watermark, no expiry, and it opens in an ordinary music player.

2. Hand each character a voice, and hear that voice before you commit to it.
3. Render, and the whole scene comes back as one audio file, ready to share.
