BODMAS is the rule that tells you the correct order to solve a maths
expression:

B — Brackets first
O — Orders (powers and roots)
D — Division
M — Multiplication
A — Addition
S — Subtraction

For example: 5 + 3 × 2 = 11, NOT 16!
Because you multiply before you add.
