4/27/2026 update. so I wrote a review before and played a few more months, here's what I know. while this game is fun, it's a money grab. everything leads you to buy something. the matches are uneven, and I think majority of the time you are playing against Ai. they purposely make the game harder (or even dictate when you win or lose) to frustrate you into spending more money. so if you have money to waste, then it's a good game.

You know, I really like the game. It's simple, competitive, challenging... I love the characters, their powers and evolutions... After you get to Arena 3, THE ADS ARE ATROCIOUS. You have to watch an ad to level up characters, to redeem rewards you've earned, to buy character cards, etc. And the only way you can get rid of the heinous amount of ads is to buy an add-on each week. I don't know if I want to deal with the ads OR pay to get rid of them, at this point...

I really like the idea of this game. I spent money on it a while back and enjoyed the game while I played. they helped recover my account, yet came back and they changed so much and made it all about the money and pay2win. the money I spent was pointless and it seems I just invested into the game to constantly lose because I guess other people spent more money. I used to have a 60% win rate, yet since coming back I haven't won one match. now down to 35% win rate. this isn't their problem though.
