About this app

In July 1975, more precisely on the 19th, it was aired for the first time on the powerful waves of Rádio Brasil Central de Goiânia, the “Na Beira da Mata Program”, which quickly became a reference and a greater success in audience of sertanejos programs in center-west region. The program was presented by the duo Veloso & Velosinho and counted on the participation of live artists, among them, names such as Trio da Vitória, André e Andrade, Praião and Prainha, Irmãs Freitas, Os Filhos da Fronteira, Zé Mulato and Cassiano, Zazá and Zezé and many others. Given the success of the program on the radio, in 1976 “Na Beira da Mata” also gained its space on the small screen. Exhibited by TV Brasil Central, under the command and presentation of Veloso, it was really a bold proposal. An auditorium program, featuring live artists and where famous names from “Rádio Nacional de São Paulo” paraded such as Tião Carreiro and Pardinho, Liu and Léu, Zico and Zeca, Léo Canhoto and Robertinho and, how ironic… Artists that the duo Veloso and Velosinho, formerly Joãozinho and Toninho, admired and dreamed of meeting them by listening to the Country Line from 8:00 pm, straight from São Paulo. On June 29, 1980, with the premature death of Velosinho (only 29 years old), he followed Veloso as João Veloso. His career as a duo was buried together with his brother Velosinho, but the “Na Beira da Mata” program continued… and continues today… It can be heard on Rádio Mil FM 102.9 in Goiânia and here on Rádio Beira da Mata on Monday Friday from 6:00 am to 7:30 am always bringing emotions and homesickness, but above all joy and happiness for a multitude of faithful listeners, spread across homes across the country and across borders.
