The use of WoAD requires a valid amateur radio license. Do not use, install, or download WoAD unless you have a valid amateur radio license, or a license from a participating government service or agency. Ship station, marine or general radiotelephone licenses do not qualify.
WoAD can be used as a client of the Winlink Global Radio EmailⓇ system or for direct connection to a peer-to-peer (P2P) capable client, via either the internet or a VHF/UHF AX.25 packet connection.
You are strongly encouraged to read through the WoAD documentation (available at https://woad.sumusltd.com/documentation) before use. You can also install WoAD for free, through an apk file available at https://woad.sumusltd.com/download.
WoAD, like much of ham radio, is highly technical in nature. For those unfamiliar with packet radio and/or Winlink the learning curve may be steep and frustrating.
Should you encounter a problem or roadblock while running WoAD there are several resources available to you: * the documentation: always a good place to start and always expanding: https://woad.sumusltd.com/documentation * the support group: a community of WoAD users who may be able to provide assistance: https://groups.google.com/g/woad-support * bug report page: for when the problem is with WoAD itself. Please take the time to submit a bug report (even if it is just a typo) as everyone will benefit: https://woad.sumusltd.com/bug-report * feature request: for when WoAD is missing an opportunity to be more useful or less irritating: https://woad.sumusltd.com/feature-request

our EmComm groups locally use Winlink express on radios which requires that we have windows computers. some of us are moving to Linux which leaves us with a choice of Direwolf with pat, or something else. we have begun using Woad and it seems good from a telnet pov. others have tried on apple and used radio mail. we are still trying these out, but they seem to work. now, I hear that woad with a cable cen work with the radios usb-c port as well. we will be working on checking that out soon

Expensive and doesn't work. Tried to pair/connect with UV-PRO on two different phones. I know it isn't the phone or the radio because the B-Tech app connects with the radio fine. Apparently useless.

Sorry to hear that you couldn't get things working with WoAD and the UV-PRO. Reaching out to the WoAD support group may help you work through the problem: https://groups.google.com/g/woad-support
You might also find it helpful to look at this youtube video that goes through using WoAD with the N76/UV-PRO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzacUjJGc-I
