Nowadays wall clock are quite stupid, but price for them is a little bit less that price for tablet PC. And weather station is expensive. So, why do you need to buy stupid clock or expensive weather station when you can take this application and the cheapest table pc or old useless one and get smart clock:
- they wouldn't lost time during blackouts. And it even doesn't require batteries for that, because device already has rechargeable battery
- screen brightness is auto adjustable. Even if your device has not light sensor - application use camera as light sensor (disabled in settings by default)
- you can choose one of 16 million color for displaying
- alarm clock from Android OS
- displaying current date, sunset and sunrise
- weather now, forecast for one day each 6 hour and forecast on next week: temperature, wind speed and direction, pressure, clouds, precipitation and if sky is clear - moon phase, Units for temperature, speed and pressure are adjustable.
- automatic start and close application on plugged/unplugged charger ( disabled in settings by default )
- and even do not have to set up time on this clock, because Android OS could take time from network and you will have exact time!
You can use this application for your lovely device like screen saver while charging. Especially for devices with dock stations. Just turn on autorun and autoclose feature in settings and clock will appear while device is docking.
On first launch choose your city for weather forecast.
If your device have navigation bar, it will be hidden on application start. Any touch return navigation bar to screen, is not affecting on application.
Touch the alarm clock icon to show system alarm clock.
Touch the time to show application menu (the same as menu button, in case if your device does not have menu button).
Touch the weather to switch two types of forecast - dayly and weekly.
If your device does not has a light sensor, but it has camera, better front, turn on brightness adjusting using camera in settings - it will measure light every 30 seconds. But if you run this on unplugged device it will decrease on-battery time.
Time and date format are taken from system.
If you need brightness lower that your device allows, change in settings -> text color value R, G, B to lower ones. For example: if you change green (#00FF00) to 80 instead of FF, brightness will twice lower.
You can choose screen rotation in settings.

A license key can be purchased for $2.99 which unlocks 8 more flying themes to satisfy any pilot...yes, helo drivers we even have a rotor tach for you. The license key is a one-time purchase, which Google Play will manage so that all themes will be unlocked on your other Android devices too.
- No advertisements (i.e. phone FOD)
- 11 different clock faces:
- Altimeter (free)
- Turbofan Engine (free)
- Airspeed Indicator (free)
- Radial Engine
- Directional Gyro
- Radar Screen
- Artificial Horizon
- Heads Up Display (HUD)
- Rotor Tachometer
- Flight Helmet (new)
- Multi-Function Display (new)
Note: This is a widget and not an application, so it will not show up in your app list. To add a widget, do the following:
1) Open the app drawer.
2) Select the 'Widgets' tab.
3) Long press on 'Aviator Clocks' and drop it on your home screen.
Instructions for Android 3.2 and below:
1) Choose an empty space on your home screen.
2) Hold your finger there (long press) until a menu appears.
3) Select the 'Widgets' menu item.
4) Select 'Aviator Clocks'.
1) Touching the clock face will open up the menu for changing themes.
2) A long press on the clock face will allow resizing (Android 3.1 and above).
3) If your display is small, you may need to scroll to see all clock themes.
4) Can be used as a screen lock widget (Android 4.2 and above).
WARNING: For the 'Artificial Horizon' and 'Heads Up Display' themes, the hour hand controls the horizon...so don't panic when you find yourself in a tight turn or even inverted at various times during the day. Also, for you chopper pilots, the 'Rotor Tach' theme will display a dangerous flying condition for most hours of the day.
Troubleshooting: Some versions of Android are slow to update their widget list, so you may have to give it a few minutes for Aviator Clocks to show up. If you don't have patience for this, a quick phone power off/on should force the list to update (not a very elegant solutions, but it is a failsafe one for the vast array of phones out there).
Note: If Aviator Clocks still does not show up in your widget list, it is because Android sometimes blocks widgets that are installed to the SD card (which CyanogenMod does by default). To fix this, do the following:
1) Open up Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications.
2) Select 'Aviator Clocks'.
3) Click the 'Move to Internal Storage' or 'Move to Phone' button.

* Wealth: Net worth at time of retirement. Not added to after retirement.
* Interest: Per year (not including compounding), after inflation, paid continuously.
* Expenses: The fixed amount you draw out each month, paid continuously.
* Death In: Number of years you expect to live after retirement.
Many people plan to try to live only from the interest from their investment as if they were going to live forever. Clearly one can increase their standard of living by also dipping into their principal, but for how long? With this little app you can easily explore "what if" scenarios involving these variables under the assumption that you will be broke at the end of the time you expect to live. Of course you might live longer than that and it would be terrible to be broke when you are very old, but it would be worse to be dead! Of course if you expect to live for 20 years after retirement, planning for, say, 40 or even 30 years should be plenty. Many people think that if they never touch their principal, at least they will leave a nice sum for their children, but that money would likely make a bigger difference to you in your retirement than it would to young beneficiaries.
The selected row is the variable the applet is solving for. By default the "Expenses" variable is selected. This means that you can see how much you can draw each month depending on the values you enter for the other three. For example, if you expect to live at most 25 years after retirement and expect to earn 5%, you can set those values and then adjust the "Wealth" slider to see how much money you will be able to live on each month depending on your net wealth at retirement.
You can select the "Wealth" row in order to see how much you'll need to save in order to retire with a particular desired monthly disbursement. You can solve for "Interest" to see what sort of interest rate you'll to meet your goals, and you can solve for "Death In" to see how many years you can live given the other parameters.
Play with the app for a while and you should get the idea of how to answer many other interesting "what if" scenarios.
WARNING: I MAKE NO WARRANTIES AS TO THE UTILITY OR ACCURACY OF THIS APP. IT IS JUST A TOOL FOR GETTING A ROUGH IDEA OF POSSIBLE RETIREMENT SCENARIOS, AND IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR EXPERT ADVICE FROM RETIREMENT PROFESSIONALS.
LassieBot is very simple to use, and once properly set up you can largely forget about it, but you must read and understand ALL of the warnings and instructions below before LassieBot has a chance to function correctly in a real emergency.
There are many aspects to being safe while alone, and everyone should have back-up plans to cover as many contingencies as possible. LassieBot is meant to address only one of those cases, namely summoning help if you or a loved one are alone and unconscious. THERE ARE MANY WAYS IN WHICH LASSIEBOT COULD FAIL, AND I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY FAILURES AND MAKE NO PROMISE OF ITS UTILITY FOR ANY PERSON OR ACTIVITY.
Here are some of the ways that LassieBot could fail:
* Your phone is turned off or the battery runs out.
* Your phone is charging. By design, LassieBot will not send alerts while connected to a charger.
* Your phone is in Airplane mode or is otherwise unable to connect.
* LassieBot is not turned on at the time of the emergency or is poorly configured.
* There is no cellular signal when LassieBot attempts to send out alerts.
* Alerts are sent but do not reach their destinations.
* Alerts reach their destination but your contacts do not notice them in time or take appropriate actions.
* LassieBot will not work in a moving vehicle.
* There may be bugs in the implementation.
Before using, you must configure and test it, and you need to fully understand what it does and how it works.
Step 1: Identify your emergency contacts. You do that by putting the 4 letters "ICE:" at the beginning of their names. ICE stands for "In Case of Emergency", and rescue workers know to look for such contacts when treating a lone unconscious person. Taking this simple action will go a long way to improving your safety while alone even if you never install LassieBot!
Talk with your potential emergency contacts BEFORE marking them as such as some people may not want that responsibility. Be sure to tell them to treat any alert as if it is a real emergency and that most alerts will be tests or false-positives, but all alerts should be assumed to be actual emergencies until they learn otherwise. I recommend using 2 emergency contacts.
Step 2: Select the amount of time with no motion that will trigger alerts. This should be longer than you ever go without handling your device.
Step 3: Click the big red button turning it green. At this point LassieBot is on the job and you can see that by the sticky notification in your notifications list, as well as from the tiny LassieBot icon in the very top-left corner.
Step 4: Configure and test. Clicking the check box brings up these controls. LassieBot will beep each time it gets a gyroscope event indicating that the timer has been reset. Adjust the sensitivity if needed so it always beeps when you pick it up but never when siting on a table.
Click the "Send Test Alert" button and make sure that all of your emergency contacts get the message. Warn them first that you will be doing this, and make sure they respond appropriately.
Finally, uncheck the check box to hide the configuration and test controls and stop the beeping.
LassieBot will not allow your phone to sleep, otherwise it cannot work so you will need to recharge more often. This is the price you pay for the added security. Turn LassieBot off when you know you don't need it or plan to leave your phone for a long time. Just don't forget to turn it back on later!
If LassieBot saves even one person's life, it will have been worth all my effort. I hope you will never need it, but if it does I hope that you will contact me and tell me your story.
