Surry on the Go is a free TV channel that features local info, weather and high school sports. Elkin, Pilot Mountain, Mount Airy, Dobson, Surry County and the public schools within Surry County will all have programming on Surry on the Go, which is a government-owned TV channel and streaming app. The streaming app is available on Roku, Fire, Apple TV, Android smartphones and tablets and Apple smartphones and tablets. The channel is also available on Surry Communications Cable Channel 7 and Spectrum/Charter Cable.

High school football, high school boys’ basketball and high school girls’ basketball will be featured on the channel.

Employment opportunities in local government will also be posted.

Board meetings for Surry County Government, the Town of Pilot Mountain, the City of Mount Airy, Elkin City Schools and Surry County Schools will be broadcast on Surry on the Go. Board meetings for the Town of Dobson and Town of Elkin will hopefully be added later. Another hope is for Mount Airy City Schools Board meetings to be added later.

Local government services and programs, public school information, tourism related items and parks and recreation coverage are broadcast on Surry on the Go.

To download and watch Surry on the Go on Roku, Fire or Apple TV, you must have WiFi in your home. To download and watch Surry on the Go on Android smartphones and tablets or Apple smartphones and tablets, you must have Internet or WiFi on your smartphone or tablet.

To watch Surry on the Go on Surry Communications Cable Channel 7 or Spectrum/Charter Cable, you must subscribe to one of those cable services.
