This application performs the shear design of earthquake-resistant beams according to the criteria established in Chapter 21 of the Peruvian Standard E.060 (2009).
The design follows a capacity-based approach, using the nominal or probable moments derived from the actual flexural reinforcement. Based on these values, the app calculates the design shear forces and determines the stirrup distribution in both the confinement zone and the central zone of the beam.
š Input Parameters:
⢠Section width (b)
⢠Effective depth (d)
⢠Total depth (h)
⢠Clear span length (Ln)
⢠Dead load per unit length (Wm)
⢠Live load per unit length (Wv)
⢠Concrete compressive strength (f'c)
⢠Steel yield strength (fy)
š Results:
⢠Nominal or probable moments
⢠Design shear forces
⢠Stirrup distribution by zone
⢠Complete shear design of the beam
This tool is useful for structural engineers and civil engineering students, allowing for design validation, project review, and reinforcement of key concepts in seismic beam design based on capacity principles. Ideal for use in technical offices, fieldwork, and academic environments.
