About this app
A GPS app for metal detecting, made by a detectorist. Your path draws on the map as you walk, so you can see the strips you missed. Every find is pinned where you dug it, and old maps laid over today's satellite view show where houses and roads once stood.
TRACK WHERE YOU'VE SWEPT
GPS tracking keeps working with no phone signal. Pro adds a Coverage Heatmap that shows the ground you missed, ghost tracks of past sessions on the live map, a Road Back line to your start, and comparison of up to four visits to the same field.
LOG EVERY FIND WHERE YOU DUG IT
One tap pins a find where you stood: coin, relic, jewelry, gold, treasure or trash, with a name, notes and a photo. Pro adds value, depth, weight, signal/VDI, soil type, audio, video and more photos. Waypoints mark spots worth coming back to.
PIN YOUR OWN MAPS TO THE GROUND
With Pro, import a scanned old map, a parcel sketch or an aerial photo and lay it over the live satellite view. Drag, pinch and twist it into place, or tap a few matching points on the image and the map for a precise fit. Fade it in and out, and walk the old landscape with your live track on top.
HISTORICAL AND OFFLINE MAPS
Pro adds one-tap historical maps: USGS historical topo across the US and eHarta historical maps across Romania. A slider fades between the old map and today's satellite, so a vanished farmhouse shows up where it stood. Pro also downloads maps for use without a signal.
YOUR SPOTS STAY ON YOUR PHONE
Your sessions and finds are stored on your device, with no account needed. No ads, no advertising trackers, and your data is never sold. Crash and usage reports stay off unless you turn them on. Radar is the one feature that shares your location, only with the group you join by code, and groups expire after 12 hours.
LANDOWNER PERMISSIONS
The Permission Vault keeps each landowner's contact, status, permit dates and signature, and adds the expiry to your calendar. With Pro, draw the exact site boundary, generate request and thank-you letters as a PDF, and turn on Perimeter Guard: it vibrates as you near the edge and sounds an alarm if you step outside.
RADAR: YOUR GROUP ON ONE MAP
Start a group, share the code or QR, and everyone who joins appears on one live map. Send quick messages ("On my way", "Found something!"), drop shared or private pins, set a base pin for the car, follow a guide arrow to anyone, and see how much daylight is left. SOS alerts the whole group with your location (it does not call emergency services). Joining is free; starting a group needs Pro.
DETECTOR PRESETS
Works with any detector. Pick yours from 61 models across 12 brands, name it, and keep your own notes on how you run it. Share presets by QR code. Free keeps one preset; Pro keeps more.
FORECAST AND TIDES
The Detecting Forecast scores conditions from 0 to 100 for any location (2 days free, 7 with Pro). Pro adds NOAA tide tables for US coasts up to 14 days ahead.
HISTORY AND BACKUP
Every session is saved with its track, finds and weather. Pro adds advanced statistics, Finds Intelligence (finds and value by type, detector and site), GPX, KML, CSV and JSON export, and Google Drive backup, encrypted on your phone if you set a passphrase.
