About this app

Syskonf CheckPoint is an app for event organizers for access control and attendance tracking in zones. A zone is a place within a given time window, e.g. Room A from 12:00 to 14:00, a workshop, lunch or a gala. One room can therefore be several zones over the day, each with its own access list.

The app turns an Android phone or handheld terminal into a portable optical or proximity scanner: it identifies the attendee by their badge on entering a zone (at a checkpoint), verifies access rights and records attendance. CheckPoint is intended for users of the Syskonf.com platform.

Optical scanning uses the phone camera; proximity scanning requires a phone with an NFC reader.

ZEBRA TERMINALS

The app is fully compatible with Zebra handheld terminals (mobile computers) such as the TC26, equipped with an ultra-fast industrial QR and barcode scanner. Scanning is triggered with the side button and does not use the camera, and the battery lasts a full working day.

HOW IT WORKS

Organizers can create any number of zones within an event and scan entries — and optionally exits — at many checkpoints at the same time. Every pass is stored on the device and then sent to Syskonf over Wi-Fi or mobile data. When there is no internet, the app keeps working offline and sends the data once the connection is back.

Syskonf continuously counts the people present in each zone based on data from all scanners. The count is sent back to every connected CheckPoint app, so staff can see it on screen.

■ register attendees in Syskonf or import their data into the database
