It's a novel idea using AR to overlay star maps over the camera view but this version fails in two ways. First, is accuracy. The objects are off from the viewed image in the camera. Second, ads directly on the sky maps. Was observing a lunar eclipse and focused on the moon and got an audible add instead of info in the event Only tracks ISS and Hubble. Good concept but needs improvement.
Got excited when I saw what this app claimed it could do. Then I opened it outside on a clear night. It is so off it thinks the moon is on below the horizon when it's directly above me. Calibration doesn't matter. It's just broken. Get Sky Map instead. It actually works.
Nice app. Just reverted from the SkyView Premium version which does not account for local time - it treated local time as GMT time, apparently - showing the sun high above the horizon at 4am local time (GMT+8). This free version is fine.
Extremely nice app... For those in which it doesn't work try calibrating your device and testing the gyroscope before complaining.. It is really nice app and should be referred in play store.
Good if you don't get hung up on accuracy with the camera view. Using passing airplanes or anything you can see in your camera view to check accuracy will drive you crazy. If you don't do anything like that, it works fine.
It's nice in general to see all of the details of the sky but it's not accurate. It couldn't even accurately tell me where the moon was. Everything just kept shifting to completely different places.
