Edit: I upgraded from a 4K Chromecast with Google TV to an Onn 4K Pro, and was immediately able to connect with no issues. Same phone. Fantastic feature. "error: no route to host" message keeps popping up during setup, tried everything I could think of.

Although this app is capable of much more, I was just looking for a way to always display the time unobtrusively on both my Google TV 4k/LG and my Sony Bravia TVs. This works beautifully on both! Setup was easy, too. Great work!

I managed to get it to work with some difficulty. Its quite buggy but can work with enough time. Also looking around a bit, it seems the developer is unresponsive on app feedback and in github. Updates are slow and the developer doesnt seem interested in bugfixing nor improving it for the poor people who chose to pay. You should strongly reconsider paying for anything and read the github to see where the solution is in its current state.
