Tachyon SOS lets anyone in danger send their exact location and phone number to rescue volunteers in seconds.
A humble initiative by Tachyon360, first built for the people affected by the 2018 Kerala floods and rebuilt to work in any emergency.
Now revamping considering current Kerala rain & emergency situation
IF YOU NEED HELP
• Tap "I need help".
• Your location is picked up automatically from GPS. If you are not where your phone thinks you are, move the pin on the map.
• Add a phone number you can be reached on. Your name and other details are optional but useful — how many people are with you, medical needs, how to find you.
• Tap send. No signal? Your report is saved on your phone and sends itself the moment a connection comes back.
IF YOU CAN HELP
• Tap "I can help".
• See reports within 5 km of any area on a map, from the last 5 days.
• Tap a marker for contact details, call the person directly, or open directions in your maps app.
• Works offline with the last reports it downloaded.
PLEASE READ
Tachyon SOS is not an official emergency service and it does not dispatch rescue teams. Always call your local emergency number first. Please treat this app as an additional way to ask for help, never the only one you try.
WHAT A REPORT CONTAINS AND WHO CAN SEE IT
A report holds your location, your phone number and anything you type, so that rescuers can find you and reach you. Reports are visible to other people using the rescue map in this app. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing. Reports stop appearing after 5 days.
