Tag4Access is an accessibility app that helps people identify, review, and improve accessibility in real-world spaces. Users can submit location-based tags for accessibility barriers or positive features, add photos and descriptions and rate locations based on their overall accessibility.
Through the interactive map, users can explore accessibility information before visiting public spaces, helping them plan trips and daily activities with more confidence. Common tags may include entrances, washrooms, sidewalks, pathways, or other accessibility-related features and barriers. Users can also track their own submissions through the My Tags dashboard and see whether each report is pending review, validated, or rejected. This makes the reporting process more transparent and helps users understand how their contributions are being used.
A key part of Tag4Access is its youth-led review system. Youth Accessibility Leaders review and validate community submissions to help ensure the information is accurate. Once an accessibility issue is verified, it can be escalated toward funding or improvement requests.
