Check any hotel room, vacation rental or changing room for hidden cameras in a few minutes. Candor is a hidden camera detector that runs four independent checks with your phone's camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and magnetic sensor, then shows the reason behind every flag so you know what to look at.
A spy camera detector that relies on one trick misses a lot. Candor uses four, and it is honest about what each one can and cannot see.
LENS FINDER
A camera lens is a small piece of curved glass. When your flashlight shines on it, it reflects light straight back at your phone. Candor turns on the flashlight and marks small, sharp, bright spots in the camera view so you know where to look closer. An infrared check with the front camera helps you spot the night-vision lights some spy cameras use in the dark.
WI-FI CAMERA SCAN
Join the room's Wi-Fi and Candor lists the devices on that network. It flags any device that offers a live video stream, answers the standard camera discovery request, or uses ports common on recorder and IP camera firmware. Each flag comes with a plain reason, such as "Offers a live video stream".
BLUETOOTH SCAN
Listens for nearby Bluetooth devices, flags names typical of small cameras, spots item trackers, and highlights unnamed devices that are very close. Signal strength gives a rough distance so you can walk toward the source.
MAGNETIC SENSOR
Your phone's magnetometer reacts to electronics hidden inside objects. Set a baseline in the middle of the room, then move the phone slowly along smoke alarms, clocks, chargers, air fresheners and decor. A sharp jump on something with no reason to hold electronics deserves a look.
HOW TO SWEEP A ROOM
1. Dim the lights and run the lens finder across anything that faces the bed or shower.
2. Join the room's Wi-Fi and run the Wi-Fi camera scan.
3. Run the Bluetooth scan while you stand in the middle of the room.
4. Check objects you are unsure about with the magnetic sensor.
The home screen tracks all four checks, so a room sweep takes a few minutes, not an afternoon.
WHAT A HIDDEN CAMERA FINDER CANNOT DO
No hidden camera finder can find every camera. A camera that is switched off, records only to a memory card, or uses a network you are not connected to will not appear in a network or Bluetooth scan. Shiny objects can look like a lens, and speakers or steel frames raise the magnetic reading. Candor is not a radio-frequency bug detector and does not find audio-only listening devices. It shows you where to look and why; you decide what it is.

Scans run on your phone. Camera video is never recorded or uploaded, and scan results such as device names and addresses are never sent to us. No ads, no account.

Every scan runs without a subscription. The lens finder and magnetic sensor are fully included. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scans show the true number of devices found and full details for the top result. Premium unlocks the full report for every device, with the reason each one was flagged. Premium is available as a yearly plan with a 3-day trial or a weekly plan. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in Google Play.
