Like almost every city or village, Oisterwijk also has countless stories that keep the memory of the Second World War alive. The presence of the concealing forests, the convenient location on the rail network and the presence of the many hotels and villas made Oisterwijk a strategically important place for the Germans. There are therefore, in the village but also outside, countless traces of the presence of the German occupiers and of the resistance (small as well as large scale) against their presence.

We have mapped a large number of those tracks and brought them together for the interested walker. Through this walking route that leads through the characteristic bowl of Oisterwijk and its green zoom you will search for those traces of war and resistance.
