About this game

Mobile version of the classic 2008 art game.

Selected for the Independent Games Festival and Indiecade. Nominated for European Innovative Games Award.

The Graveyard is a very short computer game designed by Auriea Harvey and Michaël Samyn. You play an old lady who visits a graveyard. You walk around, sit on a bench and listen to a song. It’s more like an explorable painting than an actual game. An experiment with realtime poetry, with storytelling without words.

Buying the full version of The Graveyard adds only one feature, the possibility of death. The full version of the game is exactly the same as the trial, except, every time you play she may die.

With music (sung in Flemish with English subtitles) by Gerry De Mol, animations by Laura Raines Smith and sound effects by Kris Force.
By Tale of Tales, the independent studio that created Vanitas for smartphones, Luxuria Superbia for tablets and The Endless Forest, The Path, Fatale, Bientôt l'été and Sunset for desktops.

This is supposed to be an interactive painting, but the developers clearly gave up here. The format for a mobile screen is horrendous, you can't see the environment, the opening supers properly, no indicator to press the bottom corner for instructions, and the subs for the song are unreadable against the white path. The meaning should be great but with this format, you can't feel the environment and the aesthetic atmosphere with this format. The meaning got lost in the execution, how sad.
