About this app

Igbo Language is widely spoken in Nigeria and around the world with many Igbo people and children living in many countries of the world.

This app ensures that the Igbo culture and tradition is kept from generation to generation. The app teaches users how to read, write and pronounce Igbo Language.
The app also teaches exact pronunciation of translated language by relating the translated data to the actual meaning of the English data e.g. “light” can mean illumination and can also mean a not too heavy load. The app teaches the end user how to pronounce accurately this type of translations and distinguish one similarly pronounced words from another.

The app also uses English phrase translations to ensure accurate understanding of the Igbo language.

This professional version enables users to update the translated data if they are using it to teach others as there are many ways to speak a language. It also enable users to create new data translations, record and play back or delete audio Igbo data, record and play back or delete dialog audio Igbo data.

Dialog audio data helps to elaborate on the translated Igbo data and may be used to teach the user what to expect in reply to what they are saying to local speakers of the language. This professional version can also be used to backup and restore newly created data.

Addition of graphical images to aid language translations. You can also take your own pictures to replace supplied images.

Quiz modes both Basic (does not use accented characters) and Advance (test knowledge of accented characters) are now available, both modes also displays your quiz results.

Intuitive user configurations now available.

Calendar notifications to use the app are incorporated in the app design, to ensure that you continue to practice your learning.

The voice recording is fine and clear but It has too few phrases on everyday conversation. Please add more phrases and sentences otherwise 2 star rating only.

We have populated the app with over 1000 translations of words and phrases in Igbo, it is one of the best around. Also it has features for you to add more phrases which you may not get with other apps.

There is a children's app that is made better than this. There's too few phrases. It didn't really teach me anything

This app is just right for brushing up on conversational igbo at short notice. It is not too in-depth but has all the right phrases those learning or brushing up on their Igbo need.

What's new

This release conforms with the latest Android 13 and above and some bug fixes. Camera request is for the user to capture images to illustrate and support the language translations.
