Important: Talk For Me is an assistive communication aid, not a medical device. It does not diagnose or treat, and does not replace clinical care or emergency services. In a life-threatening situation, get help from people on site or call your local emergency number.
Built for people who lost their voice (stroke aphasia, ALS, post-ICU): no typing, large buttons, emoji cues, and a one-tap alert that only speaks aloud so nearby people can help — it does not dial.
Patient board languages: Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Malay. Non-Chinese content is AI-assisted, not clinically certified.
Phrases stay on your device. Free, nonprofit.
Who it's for: people who cannot speak after a stroke (aphasia), with ALS, or after ICU extubation — and the family and caregivers beside them, including caregivers who speak a different language. The same message can be spoken in the patient's language and then in the caregiver's.
How it works: 1) Pick the board language and the caregiver's language. 2) The patient taps a large card. 3) The phone speaks it aloud. You can add your own phrases.
Privacy: phrases and settings stay on your device; no account is needed. If you use auto-translate on your own phrases, Google ML Kit downloads a translation model once (internet needed) and then translates on the device; ML Kit may send low-volume diagnostic data to Google. The in-app tip jar is optional.
Large-button AAC board: tap a card to speak needs aloud; one-tap nearby alert.
