How it works: The app allows passengers to request a nearby taxi in seconds. The process is simple: the passenger requests a ride → the app locates verified taxis by proximity → the driver accepts and provides the service → the passenger pays the driver directly as usual. TAXICR also offers digital payment options when enabled by the driver, trip history, ratings, and a notification system to confirm current official fares. Driver registration is for formal taxi drivers, with document verification to guarantee legality and trust.

I am an independent developer and founder of TAXICR; I assume responsibility for declaring income to the Tax Authority and complying with the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS). TAXICR is designed to operate without charging the government for its use. The app is intended to modernize the service and allow taxi drivers to stop using radios, providing a low-cost service and supporting competitiveness with current digital platforms.

To operate with complete transparency with respect to public transportation and taxi drivers, any adjustments to operating conditions or commission rates for the service offered through the app will be notified in advance to the competent authorities and justified with clear data.

We propose starting with a regional pilot program to measure adoption, response times, and user and driver satisfaction.
