TC Electronic’s ‘TonePrint®’ app lets you use your phone’s speakers to beam TonePrints directly into your guitar pickup to drastically change your TonePrint pedal. Reassign knob functions, tweak parameters, adjust EQ responses – instant inspiration at your fingertips. The app will even work offline if you should happen to be in international waters so you can shred with total impunity.

Ratings and reviews

Good on single pedals, not Plethora. I've used this app for over a year with 5 different toneprint pedals and it works pretty much flawlessly with them. Unfortunately I upgraded to a Plethora X5 and while I can connect to Bluetooth and see the boards stored on the app, rearranging or renaming them does nothing. It shows that it worked but the changes don't take effect. Also if you try to beam a tone print, nothing happens. It says successful but it never actually goes on the pedal. I'm not alone

As of the latest version, many problems seem to have been fixed. I can edit the toneprints and beam them or send them directly via USB. It is still difficult to interpret what the settings really mean, but at least you can hear them and do some trial and error. They need a much more in-depth manual or instructions. I am using this on a Quintessence and an HOF2. Both sound very good, but it is hard to know what each tweek relly means.

Absolutely horrific app (and website). If you're a big fan of wasting your time, get this app. You can lose seconds, minutes and even hours messing with it. Their website isn't any better. The bad part is, it didnt use to be this way. You use to be able to hear the print before using it. There are all kinds of places that show you can, but they are dead ends or links that dont work. I firmly believe TCE wants to have crappy products. You're better off getting keeley and strymon products.
