The Bank of America Chicago Marathon App, Powered by Tata Consultancy Services is the perfect resource to prepare for the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Whether you’re running or spectating, the free mobile app includes everything you’ll need to be prepared for a great race week experience. The 2024 Official Race App features unlimited live race day runner tracking, professional athlete profiles, live broadcast streaming, real-time weather, an interactive course map, participant bib share and more. Fans can submit a digital cheer through the App for the chance for your message to be displayed on the Bank of America Chicago Marathon course as your participant goes by. Visit the “Cheer” page in the app to submit your message.

Ratings and reviews

Overall very good. Responsive (even on race day) Only nit picks: 1) bib colors dont match reality (bib/number displays should be blue or red). 2) Paces are shown in min/mile, checkpoints in km, either consistency or a conversion would be nice. 3) no use of Android Notification Channels (categories). Should be able to customize notifications.

This app is useless. It constantly requests permission to access your camera and storage without explaining why it's needed, and even after you grant those permissions, you gain zero functionality. The app doesn't let you watch the event (or even visualize the positions of runners). I was able to look up a friend who's participating, but there was zero data about how they were doing. To add insult to injury, the app shouts ads at you in a robotic voice. Tata Consulting failed miserably.

Mildly helpful for seeing the route I guess...wasn't even available until a few days before, lagged a bunch with tracking our runner, and only a few CTA stations nearby were marked, so I had to use several apps at once to help me figure out where to go (really annoying when you're trying to track quickly in a race). When you zoom in on the map, it doesn't let you go far enough to see street names quite often. Thankfully our runner had downloaded a phone tracker app, which was much more accurate!
