The 2024 Official Race App features unlimited live race day runner tracking, professional athlete profiles, live broadcast streaming, real-time weather, an interactive course map, participant bib share and more. Fans can submit a digital cheer through the App for the chance for your message to be displayed on the Bank of America Chicago Marathon course as your participant goes by. Ratings and reviews

This app worked really well for tracking my friend. Never used it before 2024 so can't speak to any previous issues in prior years. But for seeing my friend almost exactly where he was on the course and planning to meet at certain spots, worked great. Real time map feature was perfect. Thank you! Also, he didn't need the app as a runner but it differentiates between runner or spectator, not sure the exact differences but thought I'd mention that.

Mildly helpful for seeing the route I guess...wasn't even available until a few days before, lagged a bunch with tracking our runner, and only a few CTA stations nearby were marked, so I had to use several apps at once to help me figure out where to go (really annoying when you're trying to track quickly in a race). When you zoom in on the map, it doesn't let you go far enough to see street names quite often. Thankfully our runner had downloaded a phone tracker app, which was much more accurate!

Ads in the notifications that are *SPEAKING* auto-playing, and unskippable. And they break through do not-disturb-mode. Wholly unacceptable for any app! EDIT: I'm still getting SPOKEN notifications after blocking all notifications from the app. It doesn't show the notifications anymore, but continues to SPEAK them instead. All this is through do-not-disturb mode!
