Boring Launcher makes your phone boring on purpose.
It replaces your home screen and app drawer with something plain: text, a clock, and nothing competing for your attention. Then it puts a little honest friction between you and the apps that waste your time.
WHAT YOU GET
• A quiet home screen: clock, date, your next event and alarm, and a small battery, Wi-Fi and signal symbol.
• A plain text app drawer, sorted A to Z, with adjustable text size.
• Timesink apps: social, video and game apps are flagged automatically and open behind a short pause or a confirmation. You choose which apps count. Optionally, the pause gets longer while Do Not Disturb is on.
• Hide apps you never need, without uninstalling them.
• App groups, shown as simple text folders.
• Optional: silence notifications from your Timesink apps, so nothing pulls you back in.
• A quick panel (swipe down): camera, flashlight, two apps you choose and, if you allow it, today's unlocks and screen time. No streaks, no scores.
• Export and import your groups and hidden apps.
• Pure black and white, following your phone's dark or light mode.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No ads. No accounts. No tracking. No analytics.
• Boring Launcher has no internet permission at all. Everything stays on your phone.
• Calendar, usage access and notification access are all optional, explained before you grant them, and can be turned off in Android settings at any time. Notification access, if you turn it on, is used only to see which app posted a notification, never what it says.
GET STARTED
Install, open, and choose Boring Launcher as your Home app when asked. A short tour shows what each swipe does: up for the app drawer, down for the quick panel, left for the phone, right for contacts.
