A new word every day. You can see it. The machine can't.
Your job is to write a clue that makes it say the word — and the fewer
characters you spend, the higher you score.
The catch: five obvious words are blocked every day. On GIRAFFE, you can't
say neck, tall, africa, zoo or spots. And it catches the sneaky ones too —
"necked" and "spotty" won't get past it either. You have to go around.
Here's the thing: the machine is good. It gets almost any fair clue on the
first try. So the real game isn't whether it guesses — it's how short you
can go. Every puzzle shows par, the median clue length among everyone who
solved it. Your score sits next to everyone else's.
• One puzzle a day, the same for everyone
• Five blocked words that change daily, variations included
• Par on every puzzle, so a score actually means something
• Daily streak, kept on your device
• Share your result without spoiling the word
Simple to learn, genuinely hard to master. Most people can make the machine
guess. Doing it in under twenty characters is another thing entirely.
Write a clue. Make the AI say the word. The shorter your clue, the better.
