SECURITY AND PRIVACY

The app allows scanning with a user-selected device key, such as "Volume Up." To enable this feature, manually activate Accessibility Services for Scan-IT to Office. Granting this permission provides the app far-reaching access rights. These rights are used solely for detecting the specified key press. No other data is collected, processed, or stored.

Ratings and reviews

The free version occasionally interrupts your screen after a scan with a message asking you to subscribe. You're forced to wait until a left to right progress line completes before your data shows. It also substitutes the same message for your data entry in the document. You'll have to scan the QR code a second time to get the data transmitted to your document and then manually delete the rows with the advertisements. I found the app frustrating until I figured that out. I paid for a month.

When it works, it is okay. It will at random insert an ad in your office document, messing your entire data and format up. It will also lock up your phone, literally lock it so you have to use your pin to open again, which is extremely intrusive. Since the demo version behaves this way, I could not see myself paying for a subscription of any kind.

I have been using Scan-IT to Office with the Excel add-in, and it works perfectly for my needs. The connection between my phone and PC is stable, and data transfers instantly after scanning. It’s very useful for billing, stock, and QR code entries without manual typing. The setup is easy, and the interface is clean. I appreciate how it integrates directly into Excel without extra steps. Highly recommended for anyone who works with barcode or QR data entry.
