Tex-Mex cuisine corresponds to the culinary customs and dishes of the Mexican-American people who reside in Texas. It is a fusion of two styles and two ways of understanding cuisine (Texan and Mexican), although not very different in terms of ingredients.

But since there have been millions of Mexican immigrants, Tex-Mex food has been expanding to the west coast of North America. Of course, it doesn't just stay in those latitudes. Today it is a food known worldwide mainly due to its strong and tasty flavors that have been adapted to the diverse tastes of each nation in which it takes root.

Tex-Mex cuisine depends heavily on traditional Mexican cuisine, and therefore also on Spanish cuisine, in terms of ingredients and recipes, but it also receives great influence from the United States. Although its origins are ancient, it is a very modern cuisine, quick and easy to prepare and, if you are careful with the cheese and sour cream, quite healthy. It is also excellent for vegetarians, due to its numerous bean dishes.

Tex-Mex food is characterized by strong flavors. Like Mexican food, this one has a lot of spice or chili, which Mexicans call chili. Beef and chicken are widely used. Currently, shrimp is also very popular to accompany fajitas, which is a rather foreign introduction to the tastes of the aforementioned area.

Most Tex-Mex dishes are quick and easy to prepare. They are delicious as dinner or quick food.
