Translation is the one optional exception: if you choose to translate a scan, only that text is sent to be translated. If you never use translation, nothing leaves your device.

No account or sign-up is required. Camera access is requested only when you choose to scan with the camera. Images and PDF files are selected using Android's system pickers, so the app does not require broad storage or media access permissions.
