About this app

TextileBook helps textile business owners check a worker's past jobs before hiring and keep their worker and staff records in one place. It is an invite-only network of seths (firm owners) and their supervisors in embroidery, weaving, dyeing and printing, garment and textile trading firms across India. Use it in English, Hindi or Gujarati.

Check a worker before you hire
• Search by name, mobile number or ID number, or take a photo of the worker's ID card or face.
• A worker's job history opens to another firm only with the worker's OK: they share the code sent to their phone, and the record then stays open to you for one day.
• See past jobs with dates, the reason each job ended and the exit notes. For the latest job you also see the firm and whether that seth would hire the worker again.
• If the worker works at another firm now, you see which firm and can call its owner. Hiring them ends that job, and that firm is told.
• Hire from the same screen with the join date, the work type and the worker's mobile number.

Add workers with an SMS link
• Send a link to up to 20 mobile numbers at once, typed or picked from your contacts.
• Each worker opens the link on their own phone, with no app needed, and adds their own details, ID proof and photo.
• The details are read from the photo of the ID card. Check what the worker sent, ask for corrections if something is wrong, and add them to your workers.

Your worker register
• Active and Past lists of your karigars, masters, helpers and other staff, with search by name, mobile number or the last 4 digits of an ID, and a filter by work type.
• Record when a worker leaves or is removed: the date, the reason, a note and whether you would hire them again.
• Edit a worker's details, addresses, photo and ID proofs, and see the ID card photos with the number hidden.
• Home shows how many people work for you now, how many joined and left this month, and the latest joins and exits.

For your firm and team
• Add supervisors from your staff. They log in with their own mobile number and check, hire and add workers for your firm.
• Share your referral code with seths you know, and approve their requests to join.
• See when a worker sends their details, when someone asks to join with your code, and when one of your workers joins another firm.

Fair to workers, private by design
• Workers add their own details and give their consent themselves, on their own phone.
• A worker can take back their consent at any time. Their ID proofs, photos and numbers are then deleted, and each firm keeps only its own record of their job.
• ID numbers and ID card photos are kept encrypted. Other firms never see the card photos or the full ID number, only its last 4 characters.
• Every check is logged with the name of the person who made it.
• Personal data is not sold and is not used for advertising.
• You can ask to delete your account from Profile in the app. It is deleted within 7 days.

How to join
TextileBook is invite only. Ask a member for their referral code and send your request to join in the app; the member who knows you approves it. You then log in with your Indian mobile number and a one-time code sent by SMS.
