TGSpeechBox — Fast, formant Text-to-Speech
TGSpeechBox is a free, open-source text-to-speech engine that runs entirely on your device. No internet connection
required. No data collected. Just speech. It may sound like something from the 90s, but this is precisely what the brain needs to listen to speech at fast rates.
Use it two ways:
- Standalone app: Open TGSpeechBox, type or paste text, and tap Speak. Adjust speed, pitch, language, and voice to
your liking.
- System TTS engine: Set TGSpeechBox as your default text-to-speech engine in Android Settings. Screen readers like
TalkBack, apps, and the system will use it automatically.

TGSpeechBox makes zero network connections. All speech synthesis happens on your device. No analytics, no tracking, no
accounts.

What’s new

Many changes, and the final version with a 3.01 label. Fixes trill modulation (thanks Leonardo Blanco Serna, ), issues 80 through 84 fixes. New Spanish diphthong phonemes. Scared, stairs glide sounds less rushed at high speech rates. Same as on release page.
