TGSpeechBox — Fast, Natural Text-to-Speech
TGSpeechBox is a free, open-source text-to-speech engine that runs entirely on your device. No internet connection
required. No data collected. Just speech.
Use it two ways:
- Standalone app: Open TGSpeechBox, type or paste text, and tap Speak. Adjust speed, pitch, language, and voice to
your liking.
- System TTS engine: Set TGSpeechBox as your default text-to-speech engine in Android Settings. Screen readers like
TalkBack, apps, and the system will use it automatically.

- 26 languages including English (US, UK, Canadian), Spanish, Mexican Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese
(Brazilian, European), Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Bulgarian, Croatian, Romanian, Russian,
Ukrainian, Hungarian, Finnish, and Chinese (Mandarin)
- 5 distinct voice presets
- Adjustable speech rate (0.3x to 3.0x) and pitch (40–300 Hz)
- Choose which languages appear in your system TTS language list
- Fully accessible with TalkBack

What’s new
Yo yo people, here with a new release for you. This one fixes bugs, like phoneme overrides not applying to Talkback. It fixes a bug in dictionaries so autocomplete keyboard doesn't show. Lots of other refactoring under the hood, give it a spin!
