Gifts to a child are counted over ten years. This is a ledger for what you have given, how much room is left, and when it has to be filed.
**The room left is on the first screen**
Add a child and you see how much can still be given tax free. The deduction is 20 million won over ten years for a minor and 50 million for an adult, and gifts older than ten years drop out of the total on their own.
**20 million from mum plus 20 million from dad is not 40 million**
The deduction covers parents and grandparents together, once per ten years. It is not granted per person. This app counts the limit across the direct line and applies the ten-year aggregation per giver, treating a married couple as one. It is the single most common mistake in family gifting.
**The tax is worked out as you write**
Enter a date and an amount and you see the taxable value, the deduction, the tax base, the calculated tax and the early-filing credit, in the same order the National Tax Service uses. The 30 percent surcharge on gifts that skip a generation is included.
**Deadlines go to your calendar**
A gift has to be filed within three months of the end of the month it was given. That date goes into your phone calendar rather than an app notification, because reminders months or years out can be wiped when the system hibernates an app. The day the ten-year window resets and the day the child turns 19 can be added the same way.
**A tax-free timeline**
Counting from the child's birthday, the app shows in which years the deduction comes back around.
**Easy to copy into a filing form**
The entries can be copied out as a summary, and the filing steps are written out inside the app.
**Nothing is sent over the internet**
No bank or tax-office connection, no account to create. What you write stays on this device.
Everything here is for reference. It is not tax advice and has no connection with the National Tax Service. Property and unlisted share valuations, gifts with attached debt and start-up exemptions are not covered. Confirm your actual filing with a tax professional.
