Blasphemous is an award-winning 2D indie action platformer with soulslike elements, offering brutal hack and slash combat and deep exploration across a dark, gothic world steeped in penance and suffering.

Set in the cursed land of Cvstodia, ravaged by a twisted curse known only as The Miracle, you play as The Penitent One, the last survivor of the Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow, bound to a cycle of death and rebirth.

Face monstrous enemies, navigate deadly traps, and uncover hidden secrets in pixel perfect handcrafted levels. really fun game, worth multiple playthroughs especially with NG+. heard reports of a bug in some versions of the game in Grievance Ascends with the female saber ghosts that appear and dash at you but get frozen in place and can't be killed and softlock the game. while I haven't had to deal with it myself I am wondering if there will be any future fixes to handle it if needed? I know the sequel is out and the main focus but it would be nice to hear about any updates on that. game is still great.

Played on PC since 2023 and this mobile release did not disappoint. Every issue that was present during the beginning of the mobile port (controls issues, frequent lag) is now fixed! However, I recently played with a controller and everything works greatly. Only problem is that the option for controller vibration doesn't work. Also, on mobile, I do think that you should redo the map system by making it move by touchscreen (like the item descriptions) rather than the touchpad Still a great game!

Despite personally considering this to be one of the best games that I have ever played(the story, which is rich with lore and depth , with its setting taking place in a religious dark fantasy realm, the game's mechanics, the bosses, the content(except Miriam's challenges; the reward wasn't worth the effort)), the mobile port's control scheme is so sensitive and broken, that I can't give this any more than a 2, especially with how demanding the game can be with its intense difficulty alone.
