Kerala, a biodiversity hotspot in India, is home to a rich diversity of Odonates (dragonflies and damselflies), with over 180 recorded species. These insects are vital bioindicators of ecosystem health, reflecting water quality and habitat integrity. However, habitat loss, pollution, and climate change threaten their populations. To address the lack of accessible tools for Odonate research and public engagement, this project proposes the development of Odonates of Kerala—a mobile application designed to educate and promote the conservation of Kerala’s Odonates through citizen science and technology.
