While it connects easily, and plays music easily, it ONLY adds actual files and not folders, and when you have 50,000+ music files, sorted into logical files, this then becomes a major pain to try and add them all. Other than that it's album art options don't work. Pity it held such promise.
Connects perfectly to my samba. Adding chromecast (audio) support would make it perfect. Next best thing; improve the interface a bit. It functions perfectly, but the looks are terrible.
errored on most files. not a permissions issue because kodi can play them
Love the concept and stripped-down interface, but unfortunately about 50% of the time Samba Player does not play the tracks even while seeing and showing me all of the flavor files in the playlist and from the source. Any tips?
I needed an app that would play music files from my NAS. I love PowerAmp for local files but it doesn't support network sources. Samba had no problem finding my Readyshare drive, and I was quickly creating a playlist from my network. The app is simple and easy to use, and I've never had any connectivity issues. Definitely recommended.
Looks like you have to add individual folders of mp3s to the playlist. I can't just say "Load all the mp3s from this folder, including sub-folders". Looks like by 2020 I should be finished. Not. Next app please. Looks like BS Player does the job I wanted this for.
Fix UI hang on phones not connected to WiFi.
Improved user interface.
