BackPin saves the place you need to return to, together with the details that a map pin cannot remember.
Save one return point for a vehicle, hotel, meetup, locker, trailhead or another place. Add an optional photo and note, then use the return screen to see the distance and direction back when you are ready.
BackPin lets you:
- save one location only when you tap to request it;
- add a photo and short note for indoor or visual context;
- see distance, compass direction and GPS accuracy on return;
- refresh your position manually — no background tracking;
- open the saved coordinates in a map app or share them when you choose;
- keep one active return point and a small local history.
BackPin is free and has no account, ads, analytics, cloud service or background location tracking. Your return cards, photos and coordinates stay on your device unless you explicitly open a map app or use the system share sheet.
GPS can be less accurate indoors or in dense areas. Use the saved photo and note as an additional cue, and do not rely on BackPin for emergency navigation.
